Eliza & The Delusionals Have Made A Track Just For ‘YOU’

I’ve always been a fan of Potsville/Brisbane rockers Eliza & The Delusionals, and their latest track, YOU, is a reminder of why. It’s an impassioned, personal track, and I think it strikes the right balance of being energetic when it needs to be, versus letting lead singer Eliza’s vocals shine. The song is constantly building on itself, and when I put it on, my dog immediately sat up and took notice. She’s a discerning music listener, so I trust her opinion 100%.

The song feels like it could have been released during the 90s and been a hit, but at the same time, the sound isn’t dated. I think that’s due to both the songwriting, and how fun the music video is. Directed by Nick Maguire, the video goes all-in on the love for the 90s, and YOU truly feels anthemic. Eliza & The Delusionals feel like they’re on the precipice of truly blowing up, and YOU could be the track that tips them over the edge.

Speaking about the track, the band says it comes from giving their all to someone, only for that to not be good enough. “YOU was written as a point of view type situation of any type of relationship where you just can’t possibly do enough for a person, only to have them give nothing in return and pretty much throw it back in your face. Essentially watching someone fall apart and knowing there’s nothing more you can do to help. That’s why it’s called YOU, it’s for you.”

Check out YOU below. If there’s someone in your life that’s more of a taker than a giver, and you’re sick of giving them your energy, send them this track. They’ll get the message. Alternatively, if you have a mate that’s a huge fan of the 90s, also send them this track. They’ll owe you one for showing them such a killer tune.
